In collaboration with Tesco, we led the user research and industrial design for Go Cook, the supermarket’s first design-led kitchen tools range. The project focused on streamlining the cooking experience by developing four essential tools—a garlic press, peeler, can opener, and spiralizer—each featuring market-first innovations and a cohesive new design language.
Our process began by identifying common pain points through hands-on user research. We discovered a deep need for versatility and ease of use, particularly for consumers frustrated by the mechanical strain of traditional tools. Leveraging these insights, we engineered the can opener for smoother, safer operation and created a dual-configuration peeler that functions in both ‘Y’ and in-line modes to suit diverse user preferences.
The garlic crusher was reimagined to slice, dice, or crush within a single unit, featuring an integrated compartment to capture ingredients. Additionally, the spiralizer was optimized for simple operation and cleaning, making healthy meal prep more accessible. By transforming these everyday utensils into high-performance, problem-solving products, the project established a strong brand identity for Go Cook. This collaboration bridged the gap between mass-market retail and premium industrial design, delivering a range that is both highly differentiated and functionally superior.
