During the development of a European-style desktop water purifier for Coway, this concept was proposed as a more experimental and conceptual alternative to the conventional design directions. Rather than focusing solely on compact dimensions, the design rethinks how volume and visual weight are perceived in everyday use. All internal mechanical components were strategically consolidated into the base plate, allowing only the essential user-interactive elements—such as the faucet, water tank, and filter—to rise above the main body. While this approach results in a larger physical footprint compared to other concepts, it significantly reduces the perceived visual mass, creating a compact and refined presence on the countertop. The outcome is a distinctive and unconventional form factor that feels both light and intentional. By allowing each essential component to exist as a visually independent element, the design enhances clarity and intuitiveness in user interaction. This separation not only reinforces functional understanding at a glance, but also elevates the overall aesthetic character of the product. The project demonstrates a design approach that balances conceptual exploration with practical usability, offering a unique interpretation of form, function, and user experience within the water purifier category.
