We were commissioned by Iriver to design a portable UV toothbrush sterilization case, with a clear intention to translate Iriver’s signature design language—simple, refined, and quietly sophisticated—into a compact everyday object. The exterior is deliberately restrained, focusing on clean surfaces and balanced proportions that feel intuitive and unobtrusive in daily use, while remaining true to Iriver’s minimal aesthetic. Beyond its calm appearance, the design places strong emphasis on practical hygiene and long-term usability. The internal structure was carefully rethought: a detachable inner tray allows for easy maintenance, while its open-bottom construction ensures that residual water dripping from a used toothbrush does not accumulate inside the case. Instead of being trapped and causing mold or contamination over time, moisture is guided to drain out naturally, keeping the interior dry and sanitary. This project demonstrates how thoughtful industrial design can seamlessly integrate brand identity, user behavior, and functional problem-solving—resulting in a product that feels simple on the surface, yet precise and purposeful in every detail.
